yes, this is reasonable. It's kind of what we were saying fifty years ago. What I don't get is why any of us are still alive. There are many thousands of known poisons rampant in the air and water, and who knows how many unknown ones.
The grapists here spend half the year blowing clouds of smoke in the general direction of their grapes. The farmers are so heavily subsidized they do it on windy days and they don't care because there's no financial incentive to make sure it only goes on the grape plants. So herbicides drench the peninsula. Yet all around these fields dandelions thrive. Also plantain, clover, creeping charlie, mullein, and other plants edible to humans. I don't eat them there because of the herbicides. I eat them in the field out back because it's enclosed by a small forest and the poisons are less.
Dandelions and other edibles show up to help because the farmers have invited them to come. Dandelions and plantain especially are there to loosen up and nourish the soil. In the same way, germs increase in concentrations in our bodies in places where we've been injuring the flesh. We invite the germs. And at a semiotic or informational level the disease we invite works to show us what we need to work on.
I'm still thinking about where poisons--dead killing metals, for example--fit into all this. They aren't alive. I assume that there are well-funded douches always trying to murder us off, but I haven't yet been able to figure out why they haven't succeeded. I'm currently inclined to spiritual and energetic explanations, because purely Newtonian explanations would suggest we would have all been dead long ago. I'm mulling it over.
As for talking about the media, I don't have that much sympathy for people who watch that stuff. I figured out how stupid the news was before I was ten years old. Idiots who watch that stuff should (says grumpy guy) get our sympathy I guess, but it's not a big priority for me right now. Complaining that the media "fool" us is like complaining that a magician fooled us. That's what a magician is supposed to do. We have media for the same reason we have leaders, to have someone to blame for our own silliness.
